coloured KWPN colt foal by Comthago
Our biggest regret is that this fabulous foal is a colt
not a filly as he is everything we could hope for in a colourful
He has already impressed us with his exceptional canter.
He has an abundance of energy in the paddock and doesn't need
an excuse to jump with all four off the ground. Such an entertainer
is our Objectif.
Despite his high energy level he is a very pleasant gentle
colt to work with and his mother keeps him well in line.
His pedigree reads like the who's who in showjumping his
sire a young stallion Comthago VDL showing the scope, technique
and ability of his sire the great Comme Il Faut. His damline
combines the showjumping bloodlines of three prolific showjumping
progenitors Contender Nimmerdor and Grand Veneur.
Comme Il Faut
A dream pedigree: by the legendary Cornet Obolensky, out
of the best jumping mare in history, Ratina Z. In sport, he
has been everything promised; his technique, power and scope
are exceptional. Of the seven stallions in the first three
generations of Comme Il Faut’s pedigree, six of them
competed at grand prix themselves.
Comme Il Faut was second in the World Championship for five-year-olds
at Lanaken in 2010. From the beginning, he stallion demonstrated
his outstanding qualities on the international stage. At the
start of his career he jumped in young horse classes, but
after only one season he was jumping at grand prix. In 2013
and 2014, he achieved good results in 7 & 8-year-old classes,
then two seconds in 2014 at Paderborn CSI3*, and in the grand
prix at Dortmund CSI3*. In 2015 he achieved 3rd in 1.60m CSIO5*
at Rotterdam, 3rd in the Rome GCT grand prix, plus placings
in three World Cup qualifiers; 4th in Oslo, 6th in Helsinki
and 9th in London. 2016 was his best season yet – he
won the Vienna GCT and the Madrid World Cup qualifier, plus
the grands prix at Paderborn, München and Gross-Viegeln.
He contunues to this day to compete with success on the International
Has dominated the sport and breeding world for over a decade.
Phenomenally successful as both a sport and breeding stallion,
the 18-year-old is still as popular for breeding today as
he was at the height of his international career. His good
looks, temperament and outstanding technique and scope, and
that of his offspring, have seen him counted amongst the best
stallions in the world for hereditability and reliability.
Ratina Z, is perhaps the one of the most famous and most
spectacular jumpers of all time. She won back-to-back team
golds at the Barcelona and Atlanta Olympic Games with two
different riders, and also took home individual silver from
Barcelona. She won the World Cup in 1993 and the Grand Prix
of Aachen in 1996, team gold at the World Championships in
Den Haag in 1994 and double gold at the European Championships
in Mannheim 1997. Such was her prowess that she was one of
the first horses to be cloned – there are three Ratina
Z clones currently being used for breeding. Ratina’s
sire Ramiro Z was not only a hugely successful competitor
in his own right, but also has more than 60 licensed sons
Comthago’s grand sire Carthago brings in unlimited
scope - himself competing at two Olympic Games with Jos Lansink,
Atlanta and Sydney. In breeding, Carthago is among the best,
just like great-grand sire Caretino who is still represented
by his offspring in the most prestigious arenas. Constant
and Roman also jumped at the highest level.
The dam line of Comthago is highly interesting as well: dam
Miss Carthago jumped successfully at 1.30m level in Germany,
while grand dam Joyce I competed at Grand Prix level with
both Jörg Kreutzmann and USA’s Laura Kraut. Great-grand
dam Elegance competed at 1.35m level, and second great-grand
dam Prinzess jumped at 1.40m level. Conclusion: a true sport
dam line. Additionally Comthago’s dam - Miss Carthago
- produced the international show-jumper Look of Love as well
as being the half-sister to the Grand Prix show-jumper Freestyle.
Great-grand dam Prinzess produced international show jumpers
Mr. Chic and Cantara as well as being the grand dam to another
three international show jumper
