"Solaris Fechinna" is very much a product of our
own breeding program, stemming from our foundation and successful
show jumping Keur mare "Quinine".
Fechinna's dam, an SSH Ster mare "Chiquita"
was our first homebred filly by "Cappucino Van Berkenbroek"
a son of Contender and her sire is our own homebred homozygous
tobiano stallion Solaris Buenno by our foundation stallion
out of "Edwina".
The bloodlines in this fillies pedigree include many great
show jumping sires such as Nimmerdor, Contender, Ekstein,
Joost, Grand Veneur, with the influence of the Thoroughbred
sires Lucky Boy and Pericles x. The colour comes from the
worlds greatest coloured sire "Samber".
Whilst Fechinna's bloodlines are predominantly showjumping,
the lines of Wellington, Nimmerdor, Contender, Grundstein
& the Westphalen approved stallion Dottore have consistantly
produced excellent dressage horses.
Fechinna is one of six siblings out of Chiquita, Achanenna
(Umenno) retained for breeding, Bachinno (Umenno) sadly deceased,
Cairngorm (Lupicor) sold to Northern Ireland, Exatcy (Amoureux)
also retained for breeding and the full sister "Givennchy"
sold along with her dam to England in 2011 infoal to Kambrabay.
On first outing as a yearling, Fechinna won the yearling
CHAPS Non Native class and was Overall Champion reserve Inhand
at the Royal Highland Show in 2011. Later in August she was
Inhand Coloured Champion at Perth Show.

Her sire, Solaris Buenno, is our homozygous son of Umenno.
Regretably Buenno was unable to pursue a career under saddle
due to an accident as a yearling, he has however consistantly
produced beautiful quality coloured progeny with quality limbs,
strong top lines and atheletic paces.
Umenno bred with athleticism in mind, an expressive powerful
mover with off the floor paces. Shown successfully inhand
as a three year old, winning many Championship titles the
length and breadth of the UK and now in South Africa, including
the Royal Highland Show, CHAPS Scottish Youngstock Champion,
and overall Supreme Champion Reserve, CHAPS Open Non Native
National Champion 2004 as a three year old, winner of numerous
ridden sport horse classes, Burghley Young Event Horse Finalist,
winner of four five and six year old young horse classes in
the UK and Switzerland.
Wellington (now deceased) belonged to the famous VDL Stud
in Holland. Not only was Wellington a successful show jumper
himself, but well known as a producer of quality movement
in his offspring. He has sired many ‘ster’ and
‘keur’ mares and many approved stallion sons including
Farrington, Glennridge and Emillion of World Cup success.
His offspring are of International show jumping standard include
Jerome, VDL Jupiter and What a Game but also sired the Grand
Prix dressage horses, Bollvorms, Ceylon and Luxaflex.
Features in both the dam and sire line of Favorinna, crowned
KWPN Stallion of the Century, son of the ‘preferent’
stallion Farn, the ‘preferent’ Nimmerdor was the
most famous of all the old-fashioned Holstein’s offspring.
Nimmerdor has had a tremendous, far-reaching influence upon
the world of equestrian breeding and has sired over 50 Approved
sons as well as a multitude of international show jumpers,
dressage horses and exceptional brood mares.
Samber appears in both the sire and damline of Buenno. Samber
achieved ZZ level in Show jumping and Grand Prix level in
dressage. Samber has also proven himself a remarkable sire
producing versatile offspring succeeding in all Olympic disciplines
and remains the only Approved coloured stallion with the K.W.P.N.
– at present.
The English thoroughbred stood at stud in the Netherlands
from 1976 until his death in 1987. He was one of very few
Thoroughbreds like Lucky Boy to achieve Preferent status.
Pericles did some racing and competed in Open Jumpers later
in his career. His offspring made excellent sport horses.
Pericles was best known as a sire of dressage horses. He is
also the maternal grandsire of the legendary stallion Ulft.
Not only was Perciles dam sire of the most famous coloured
stallion to date "Samber" but also when combined
with the Nimmerdor son Glendale produced the dam of "the
world most famous dressage stallion "Moorland's Totilas".
Edking Hill (Ekstein x Samber)
Edwina is by the Dutch coloured sire Ed King Hill (Ekstein
x Samber) Sadly Edking Hill was put to sleep after tearing
a tendon at the age of twelve. He had already had a successful
career showjumping 1.30m with Wout-Jan van der Schans in Holland
and was competing successfully in dressage with Roel van Laar
Swets at the time, thus gaining the sport predicate. He also
gained Prestatie status through his progeny and has left behind
him two approved sons Everest Hill (AES) and Parade D (Old)
His bloodlines also carry on through Everij A (Edking Hill
x DE SAINT URUS D'OLYMPE X ) a popular sire in Holland and
is the dam sire of the Approved NRPS stallion Haico. He has
also produced a number of ster and keur mares and successful
Ekstein (Zion x Joost)
Champion of the Stallion Performance Test and Champion 7-year-old
showjumper. Eksteins' most famous sons include the Olympic
competitor Joel, and the winner of the Spruce Meadows CSI****
$1,000,000 Grand Prix, found also in the damline of "Hickstead"
the Olympic Gold medalist Beijing 2008. Eksteins dam Zaniki
(1981) KWPN a Ster Pref Prestatie mare was full sister to
Approved Stallion & International Showjumper Palfrenier
and dam of numerous International Showjumpers inc. Ekstein,
Fury, Heartdancer, Joniki, & Lajos.
Capuccinno Van Berkenbroek
Her dam is our first homebred mare "Solaris
Chiquita" by Capuccinno Van Berkenbroek (BWP and
SSH Licensed stallion) a son of the great Holstein stallion
Contender. Chiquita also shows tremendous jumping ability
when shown loose and was awarded "Ster" status with
the stud book in 2009. Her grand dam is our successful State
performance tested and successful show jumping, foundation
"Keur" mare "Quinine".
Is very much a hall mark of German breeding and one of the
most influential sons of Calypso II who was himself an important
transmitter of the genetic heritage of Cor de la Bruyère.
The Selle Francais stallion "Grand Veneur" sire
of the "Le Tot De Semilly", which when fused with
Contender these great bloodlines produced the black Holstein
stallion "Diarado" that sold for over one million
euros at the PSI auction.
