handsome designer marked tobiano warmblood colt foal "Solaris
Farquenno" has been bred for showjumping. A very powerful
correct and well developed colt with strong quaters and great
canter. His pedigree boasts great bloodlines such as the selle
francais stallion Grand Veneur, sire of many great jumping
stallions and international jumpers such as "Le Tot De
Semilly" found also in the pedigree of "Diarado"
His sire Solaris Buenno adds to his pedigree infusing the
jumping blood of Nimmerdor through Umenno by "Wellington"
sire of "Emilion".
His dam is our proven state performance tested and prolific
winning showjumping keur mare "Quinine".
Farquenno combines the successful Dutch show jumping bloodlines
of Nimmerdor but also World Cup showjumper "Ekstein"
coupled with the Selle Francais bloodlines Grand Veneur, Furioso
Regretably his sire Buenno
suffered an injury as a yearling severing his hind extensor.
It has therefore not been possible to follow a ridden career.
He has however proven a popular choice with mare owners.
As a four year old he jumped double clears in British Novice.
Discovery and Newcomers. He qualified for the Royal Show potential
showjumper, the Royal International Horse Show BSPA Ridden
finals, Burghley young event horse, Arena UK 4 year old SJ
championship, and the Scottish Sports Horse 4 year old showjumping
sport horse series along with numerous overall Championships
in ridden sport horse classes often standing vainquer to older
competitors. Winner of the five year classes at Bicton and
the six year old class in St Legier Switzerland with additional
placings at RII with Rudi Wallerbosch.
Umenno's sire (now deceased) belonged to the famous VDL Stud
in Holland. Not only was Wellington a successful show jumper,
but he was also an achieved dressage stallion. He has sired
many ‘ster’ and ‘keur’ mares and many
approved stallion sons including Farrington, Glennridge and
Emillion of World Cup success. His offspring are of International
show jumping standard include Jerome, VDL Jupiter and What
a Game. Proving himself to be a versatile sire, Wellington
also sired many successful dressage horses including Ceylon
and Bolvorms to name but a few.
Umenno’s grandsire, the legendary Nimmerdor, was named
KWPN Stallion of the Century. Son of the ‘preferent’
stallion Farn, the ‘preferant’ Nimmerdor was the
most famous of all the old-fashioned Holstein’s offspring.
Nimmerdor has had a tremendous, far-reaching influence upon
the world of equestrian breeding and has sired over 50 Approved
sons as well as a multitude of international show jumpers
and exceptional brood mares.
Nimmerdors' sire Farn broke the service records. In 1979
he was offered 236 mares. In 1978 he had been awarded the
'keur' predicate, in 1991, he was declared 'preferent', seven
years after his death. He left eleven approved sons, 123 'ster',
31 'keur', 14 'preferent' and 6 'prestatie' mares." Farn
was the sire of a number of notable international showjumpers,
including Odin N, Black and White, Design and Olympus. Aside
from Nimmerdor, Farn sired a number of stallion sons, including:
Fanfare, Felix, Garant (ex Flipper), Safari, Telstar and Uddel.
By the end of his breeding career, Farn was the sire of 13
Ekstein (Zion x Joost)
Champion of the Stallion Performance Test and Champion 7-year-old
showjumper. Eksteins' most famous sons include the Olympic
competitor Joel, and the winner of the Spruce Meadows CSI****
$1,000,000 Grand Prix, found also in the damline of "Hickstead"
the Olympic Gold medalist Beijing 2008. Eksteins dam Zaniki
(1981) KWPN a Ster Pref Prestatie mare was full sister to
Approved Stallion & International Showjumper Palfrenier
and dam of numerous International Showjumpers inc. Ekstein,
Fury, Heartdancer, Joniki, & Lajos.
Swiss State federal Stallion, Quater, competed with success
at MII. His best progeny Magnolia CH and Quatersman CH competed
CSI CSIO, CSI, SII and in the young horse classes Balladeuse
du Cornat CH, Bellamour du Cornat CH, Catania IV CH, Cristal de
la Taille CH qualified for the Zangersheide Young Horse Show
Since 1976, Grand Veneur produced more than 335 show jumping
winners, of which 75 stallions.
Regularly classed among the best sires, father of winners
in show jumping, he has produced among the best Le Tot de
Semilly Lama des Landes, Love Love de l'If, Magicien IV, Nabo
II, Rocky du Carel, Tenor de la Cour, ISO 160, Vas Y Donc
Longane, Alfa d'Elle and many showjumping winners in foreign
countries such as Le Grand du Tot, Mont Blanc, Quatre de Mai,
Sioux de Baugy, Tenor Manciais, Ulysse de Thurin, Upsala de
Baussy, Valou de Baussy, Veneur Pierreville, Amour de Coquerie,
As de Thurin, Beau Veneur, Belle Landaise and Billy du Lys.
