| Chiquita
was born at Innerleith Farm in Fife prior to the creation
of Solaris Sport Horses. Her dam is our foundation State performance
and successful show jumping Keur mare Quinine,
purchased whilst residing in Switzerland as a 6 year old and
imported to Scotland as a family member when we relocated
to Fife in 1998. Quinine's sire "Quater" a State
Federal stallion in Switzerland, sired by yet another influential
stallion, the Selle Francais stallion "Grand Veneur"
sire of the "Le Tot De Semilly", which when fused
with Contender these great bloodlines produced the black Holstein
stallion "Diarado" that sold for over one million
euros at the PSI auction and is already a prolific breeding
sire across Europe.
Chiquita was presented for Grading in 2009 and awarded the
"Ster" predicate with the SSH based on the technique
and scope. She demonstrated her aptitude and scope as a jumper
coupled with a good score of 76 for conformation. Chiquita's
powerful quaters and hind leg action are very much that of
a top class jumper and shows tremendous technique over a fence,
snapping her front legs quickly with good bascule and the
elastic use of her back with wide opening haunches over the
fence, and no obstacle too big.
Chiquita's
progeny
Chiquita has consistently produced quality foals, the first,
a chestnut tobiano filly foal in May 2005, "Solaris
Achanenna" and in 2006 her full brother a tobiano
colt "Bachinno" both by Umenno, introducing the bloodline
of Nimmerdor to the mix.
In 2007 Chiquita produced a colt foal by Lupicor H "Cairngorm"
now sold to Northern Ireland and remains entire for the time
being.
2009 saw the arrival of an exquisite filly foal "Solaris
Extacy" by "Amoureux" infusing the lines
of Ramzes, G Ramiro Z Wendekreis, Farn and "Pik As".
Extacy was awarded a first premium at the SSH mare and youngstock
gradings.
2010 saw the arrival of a delightful coloured filly by umenno
"Solaris Fechinna"
followed by a full sibling Solaris Givennchy in 2011.
The Bloodlines
Cappuccino Van Berkenbroek
Also known as Cappucino FCS, imported by the Whitaker and
Gillespies to Scotland in 2000, he stood for only one season
prior to being sold overseas. Prior to his arrival in Scotland
the son of the famous showjumping sire Contender, covered
80 mares in his first season at stud in Belgium one of which
produced the showjumping mare "Bi-Nice" out of a
Landetto mare successfully jumping at Grands Prix and 1.60m
classes. Other sons and daughters are consistant high achievers
at National and International level both here in the UK and
overseas. A Capucinno son was placed third at the loose jumping
Championship in 2005 and another of his sons was sold to England
for £35.000 after great success showing tremdous form
as a future star.
Contender
Contender is proving to be one of the most influential sons
of Calypso II out of the Ramiro daughter, Gofine who was in
turn by the great Thoroughbred sire, Ladykiller xx he has
dominated German breeding values for many years now and continues
to produce exciting young stallions like Contendro (premium
stallion in the approval of 1999, and winner of the performance
test at Adelheidsdorf the following year). Marco Kutscher
is successfully riding three approved Contender sons in international
sport: Contreo, Conterno Grande and Montender (German Champion
of 2003, bronze medallist at the Athens Games and European
Champion 2005). Toni Hassmann won the German Showjumping Derby
with Collin, while Checkmate won on the Rider’s Tour
with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and was her ride at the European
Championships.
Her
dam Quinine
Quinine" born and bred in Switzerland where she obtained
83 points at her mare grading as a three year old and was
selected for mare performance testing which she underwent
at "Le Haras National Bern" in Switzerland and was
entered into the Head Stud Book of the Swiss Equestrian Federation.
As a five year old she was re-presented under saddle by Rudi
Wallerbosh for the ridden mare performance test once again
at "Le Haras National" and subsequently branded
as a mark of quality.
Quinine is very much the "Queen" of our herd and
our foundation broodmare, measuring only 16hh. She was graded
into the head stud book with the Sports Horse Breeding (GB)
when we moved from Switzerland to Scotland and later presented
at the SSH Gradings.
Her competition record is flawless. In 1999 she commenced
her career on the BSJA circuit competing with great success,
jumping consistantly with 40 double clears and placings in
the space of only a few months and often winner in classes
of over 80 to 100 horses.
In her first season in 1999 she qualified for the British
Novice and Discovery finals winning the second round with
the only triple clear at Lough Farm in the British Novice,
placing 3rd in the British Novice Preliminary Round At the
Festival Of Show Jumping Scope. By the end of her first season
she was jumping Foxhunter classes and opens. Her ability to
turn sharp and jump from a stand still often proved her unbeatable
and very much a mare to be reckoned with when she was on form.
In the same year Quinine won the seven year old and over
Scottish Sports Horse Championship at the SSH summer show
a combination of show jumping and dressage results. At the
same show she was winner of the intermediate and Open Show
jumping and was presented for her IBOP mare performance test
achieving the second highest score of 81 points to date in
the UK under the careful eye of KWPN representative Jaques
Verkerk with an impressive 9 for scope.
Quinine was also a success in the dressage arena and never
out of the ribbons, achieving top marks for her regularity
of rhythm and pace. In 2002 Quinine gave birth to a beautiful
filly foal "Chiquita", who is now herself a mother,
producing our third generation. In 2006 a Grand daughter was
born "Achanenna" now also a broodmare has now produced
our fourth generation. She returned to the competition circuit
briefly in 2004 and successfully competed up to 1.30m classes
winning fox hunter classes before being retired from competition
and commence her career as a broodmare at the age of 14.

Quater
Swiss State federal Stallion, Quater, competed with success

la Taille CH qualified for the Zangersheide Young Horse Show
Jumping Championships.
Grand Veneur
Since 1976, Grand Veneur produced more than 335 show jumping
winners, of which 75 stallions.

in show jumping, he has produced among the best Le Tot de
Semilly Lama des Landes, Love Love de l'If, Magicien IV, Nabo
II, Rocky du Carel, Tenor de la Cour, ISO 160, Vas Y Donc
